PorchLight is a 501c3 organization, and member of the Iowa Downtown Arts Alliance.

Becoming a working member with PorchLight is a great way to get involved with the local literary community, to meet other writers and to give back to the community at large.
There are several ways working members can volunteer their time at PorchLight:
Supervise the space during open salon hours at PorchLight or in the PromptPress reading room.
Qualified volunteers can lead Fairweather Writing Sessions with Shelter House.
Help maintain our Little Free and Writer’s Resource Library.
Help with gardening and maintenance work.
Members can contribute to the “PorchLight Recommends” blog.
Attend bi-monthly PorchLight planning meetings and contribute to our vision.
Join a co-op team to help with such things as programing, and fundraising.

HOURS
Community hours are Saturdays: 11-3
We are open to members by appointment. The salon can be reserved for individual or group work sessions by following this link: book a salon session.

Working Member
Working memberships are 100$ a year or 8$ a month, with the pledge of four hours of volunteer work a month. Working Memberships include:
Free use of the salon for individual work sessions, book groups or readings.
Opportunities for literary professionals to offer workshops or meet with clients
Borrowing privileges from the Writers’ Resource Library
Invitation to bi-monthly member meeting where we design our programming and build our future.
15% discount off of workshops

A sustaining membership is 300$ a year. This membership is perfect for those who can't pledge service time but would like all the benefits of a co-op membership.
Sustaining Member
A supporting membership is $5 a month. This membership is great for anyone who wants to support PorchLight, but doesn't need to use the space for work sessions, or doesn't have the time to be an active part of the co-op team.
