Come be part of a community garden building project this summer! Find out how the practice of planting can inspire creative writing. The Writing Garden Project features six free planting and writing sessions, a celebratory reading, zine publication and garden unveiling in August.

About the event
The project is supported by an Iowa City Public Arts Grant. We couldn't be happier to continue the series on June 1st at 1:00 with Margaret LeMay. Come plant and write. We will ground our bodies, and let our creative minds blossom. This is a free event and all ages and levels of experience are welcome.
Margaret LeMay teaches poetry and creative writing at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA. She has taught or juried creative writing at The University of Iowa, The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, Iowa City Poetry, Iowa State University, the Iowa Poetry Association, and the East Harlem Tutorial Project. Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in Another Chicago Magazine, Better, Brink, The Cortland Review, the Library of Congress, Little Village, Transom, and elsewhere. Margaret attended Barnard College and The University of Iowa Writers’ Workshop.
