Iowa Writer's Residency
For two weeks in June, our Writer in Residence will have access to an abundance of resources in our Unesco designated City of Literature. Resources include PorchLight's small press reading room and recource library, potential collaborations with multimedia artists, a headline reading, the opportunity to have a broadside made of your work, and a one-on-one critique with an accomplished writer in your genre. PorchLight will provide you with a studio apartment within the literary center with private kitchen and bath. You will stay less than one walkable mile away from downtown Iowa City during the Summer of the Arts.

Applicants must live in Iowa & cannot be in the process of completing a graduate program for creative writing.
We are currently accepting applications for summer 2026 through March 15.
