On April 29th, we'll be joined in conversation with Chris Jones and Diane Vadino to discuss place-making in writing.


Chris Jones is retired from the University Iowa where he worked as a Research Engineer at IIHR-Hydroscience and Engineering, studying water quality in agricultural landscapes. Previous to UI, he worked at Des Moines Water Works and the Iowa Soybean Association. His research and writing has been featured in the Des Moines Register, Cedar Rapids Gazette, Kansas City Star and Civil Eats. He is also the author of 60 scientific journal articles, several book chapters and the book, The Swine Republic, Struggles with the Truth about Agriculture and Water Quality. The book was selected by the Library of Congress as Iowa's representative at the 2024 National Book Festival. He…
