About the event
PorchLight and 508 Press welcomes Scott Bade, poet from Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Iowa City on June 11 and 12. We will offer a workshop on letter writing, postcards, and poetry as well as a reading and book signing at PorchLight Literary Center on Thursday, June 11, at 7pm. Public Space One (Close House) will host a multimedia performance featuring Scott in collaboration with the free sound and poetry collective Antifahorn on Friday, June 12, at 7pm. Both events are free with donations and book sales to support these endeavors.
Scott Bade is the author of Preemptive Elegy (2024 – Kelsay Books) and the chapbook My Favorite Thing About Desire (2018 Celery City Chapbooks). He teaches at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts and Kalamazoo College. Scott Bade’s award-winning poetry has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and his poems have appeared in Fugue, Shadowgraph, Reed Magazine, Foothill and elsewhere. When not reading poetry he…
