PorchLight Recommends: A Brief Guide to Mission Creek Literary Events

LIT WALK TONIGHT!

Mission Creek literary madness is upon us. Join PorchLight tonight at 5:00 at RSVP, as we host a stellar stop on the Lit Walk. MC'd be moi, the reading features Martin Riker, whose new novel "The Guest Lecture" recieved rave reviews from the LA and New York Times, and Bethany Shultz Hurst winner of the Micheal Waters poetry prize for "Blueprint and Ruin" dubbed one of the best collections of the year by Dianne Seuss. PromptPress contributor Skylar Alexandar will read from her new collection, alongside poet Brandon Courtney, and PromptPress poetry editor Susan Goslee.

On Saturday I'll be checking out Lit Hub's live podcast recording with PorchLight resident Jordan Kisner,

Ganavya, and Kaveh Akbar. "Thresholds is a series of interviews with writers and artists you love about the transformative experiences (surprises, crises, existential freakouts, u-turns, breakthroughs) that have shaped their work."

Finally, you can find me, other PromptPress folk, and all of our books at the Small Press Book Fair on Saturday from 11 - 5 in the Chauncey. I'm excited to check out Meekling Press, 501 Press, and Fonograph Editions in particular; publications that reimagine the modes of publishing by merging text, visual art, and sound.

Hope to see you there!
